Participation in the 13th World Hellenic Biomedical Congress

The 13th World Hellenic Biomedical Congress, organized by the World Hellenic Biomedical Association, was held on the 22nd of May 2016 in the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. This year, the theme of the Congress was Synergy between Academia and Industry and, as such, it involved discussions between academic biosciences researchers and pharma & biotechnology industry associates, focusing on innovation, advancement of drugs, and bioethics. Among others, the speakers analyzed the existing opportunities in relation to clinical research and drug development, which, if taken advantage of, could remarkably contribute to the enhancement of the country’s economy.

Mr. Kokkinoplitis, holding significant experience in providing consulting services to large pharmaceutical companies, participated in the panel discussion entitled Can drug development and clinical trials spearhead the recovery of the Greek economy?, along with Messrs. Menelaos Pangalos (AstraZeneca), Dimitris Papanikolaou (Novartis) and Konstantinos Syrigos (Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens).
